Hi Guys.
I am trying to deselect some folders that I no longer want to sync but for some reason the tick/select boxes are not there. How do I fix this?

As far as I know, this is working as designed. If “Virtual Files” is enabled, it shows placeholders of the entire folder and file structure on your Nextcloud. However, the actual files will only be downloaded when you double click to open them, or when you decide to download them via “right-click” menu. If you prefer to use the classic “selective sync” method on a per folder basis, you need to disable Virtual Files. However, Virtual Files is much more flexible.
