Use an external storage with the Raspberry Pi

Operating system and version: Linux RaspberryPi 4.14.70-v7+ #1144 SMP Tue Sep 18 17:34:46 BST 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux
Apache version: 2.4.25
PHP version: 7.0.30

I mounted an external HDD storage on my Raspberry Pi and used the directory as the Nextcloud data folder. The Folder is /data/Meidacenter/ Now I have uploaded some files

grafik

but Nextcloud shows

grafik

and if I upload a lot of files my Pi shows that the storage is full (the normal storage). The HDD storage has 4 TB.

What can I do? Do I have to do it like here: https://strobelstefan.org/?p=5790 ? Or can I use an external storage directly?

I think that Nextcloud doesn’t save its data in the correct folder, because the maximum what I can upload are 20 GB and thats nearly the size of my sd-card. But I tried

so the data should be on the external storage. It’s also possible that I did a mistake while mounting the storage, does someone have an idea what I can do now?
