Upload speed slower in Firefox/Chrome than Internet Explorer

The issue you are facing:
Upload onto Nextcloud is significantly slower using Firefox or Chrome (25 Mbit/s) as compared to Internet Explorer (90 Mbit/s).

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error?: Yes

Steps to replicate it:

  1. setup large file upload according to documentation
  2. Login to Nextcloud via Firefox/Chrome
  3. Upload large File (>500 MB)
  4. Check upload speed (e.g. with TaskManager) -> speed only 25% of max upload speed
  5. Login to Nextcloud via internet exporer
  6. Upload large File (>500 MB)
  7. Check upload speed (e.g. with TaskManager) -> speed 90-100% of max upload speed

The output of your Nextcloud log in Admin > Logging:

no log errors

I dug up this issue from 2017 which saw a similar behavior under Nextcloud 11.

Any ideas what could be the cause of that?
Is there any configuration specific to Firefox/Chrome that would make it slower?

It just cannot be that IE is better at something :persevere:

Perhaps revive the topic on github. Only guess I would have if you use some plugins in Firefox/Chrome (e.g. antivirus).
