Summary of the issue you are facing:

Can’t upload ics file. I just want to copy a existing calendar. It stops after a while during upload (red marked).

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Export old calendar as ics

  2. Create a new calendar

  3. Import ics file into new calendar

Log entries

Nextcloud

Please provide the log entries from your Nextcloud log that are generated during the time of problem (via the Copy raw option from Administration settings->Logging screen or from your nextcloud.log located in your data directory). Feel free to use a pastebin/gist service if necessary.

Configuration

Nextcloud

The output of occ config:list system or similar is best, but, if not possible, the contents of your config.php file from /path/to/nextcloud is fine (make sure to remove any identifiable information!):

The output of occ app:list (if possible).

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

One option would be to use a Linux Bash script, such as this one:
Linux Bash Script (German language Site but with DeepL you will for sure understand what it do)

I’ve been using it for a while now for a nightly backup.

→ 1. is that a nextcloud calendar?
→ 2. is that an active or hidden calendar?
→ 3. is that a shared calendar?
→ 4. on what OS was that calendar file created/exported on… did you edit it?
→ 5. what calendar app version was the export made from?

disable the Nextcloud Maps app!

HINT: be sure to disable Maps on your new instance, since that does cause issues!

  1. Yes
  2. Active
  3. Yes, via group, no external link
  4. All major Linux Distro (Debian, Arch…), no edits
  5. 6.2.3
  6. No Maps App installed

@Fanmion THX, FWIW… i’ve tested on various instances without issues!
is that old instance you exported from still available? can you try to add a new calendar and try to import there?

is that same share group also on the new instance?

Unfortunatelly you skipped one of most important items in the support template:

I have generated a log file:

  1. Is it safe to upload my log file here?
  2. There are no entries related to calendar app in the log file

Just insert it into your first posting above under

Nextcloud Log

It should become anonymized automatically while saving the posting.
