The issue you are facing:
Getting a error to check my logs, my logs show:

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Follow this sketchy nextcloud permission script and run it
  2. Everything is now broken.

Yes, this looks like permission problems. You can set the permission for the whole folder:
You can use a small script to repair that (shortened version of https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/9.0/admin_manual/installation/installation_wizard.html#setting-strong-directory-permissions):
