Trying to create a backup dir with NFS

Hello, I’m trying to use the backup function on nextcloud pi. In the past I’ve backed up to a remote folder shared with SMB. I’m wondering if I can do the same thing with NFS?

If I want to create a shared folder on my synology nas and make it accessible to ncp, I have a few questions:

  1. Is NFS the right tool for the job or should I go back to SMB?
  2. On the shared NFS folder, do I need to make it writable by the www-data user, the ‘ncp’ user, or some other user?

What permssions does this folder need?
