Information on this manual page is very outdated, but i think it has been true back in NC Version 19. However in Thunderbird 140+ it is easily possible to connect both, CALDav and CardDav with built in methods.
You look at the documentation for Nextcloud 19, which is End of Life since 2021. This was already taken into account in the current documentation, see:
Since Thunderbird 102, the CardDAV & CalDAV protocols are natively supported.
PS: If you are actually using Nextcloud 19, you should update immediately or consider finding someone to run Nextcloud for you. With Nextcloud 19, you are exposed to a significant risk because the installation no longer receives security updates.
ah, thats a bit confusing, a google search brings one to the nc19 version and without deeper digging in the page (click on “Nextcloud” in the lower left corner, which is not very intuitive) you would not know you look at outdated info, if yit was not for the 19 in the url.
for my part, i clicked on the “Nextcloud latest user manual introduction” link and expected to reacht the latest version of the manual…
