The issue you are facing: System Tray Icon not appearing after upgrading lubuntu from 16.10 to 17.10

Steps to replicate it:
- Client runs fine on 16.10
- Upgrade to 17.10 through live-USB (not while running lubuntu locally)
- Reinstall nextcloud client (old config files still in place after upgrade)
- Nextcloud tray icon shows missing icon image instead of current server status
