System restore failed while deleting the following file/directory. (0x80071ac5)

Nextcloud version: 24.0.4
Operating system and version: Windows 10
PHP version: 7.4.3

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? Y

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Attempt to restore Windows with Nextcloud folders created in your Windows user directory.

While this is not a Nextcloud issue per se it does have some connections to it.

I tried restoring my Windows 10 machine from a restore point. The first time it failed with:

System restore failed while deleting the following file/directory.
Path: C:/Users/[user]/SynologyDrive
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x80071ac5)

So I deleted that C:/Users/[user]/SynologyDrive folder and disabled automatic startup of Synology Drive Client.

The next time I attempted to restore my Windows I got the same error except with the Path changed to one of my Nextcloud-synced folders. I don’t really want to unsync and/or delete all of my synced folders. Does anyone have any experience with restoring Windows with synced folders (even though they previously got an error)?

I have come across other posts on the web mentioning Windows restore issues with other syncing tools, including Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.
