I am trying to sync my calendar on my phone to my nextcloud calendar. I am using the Simple Mobile Tools Calendar app on my phone, as well as DAVx^5. I’m sure there’s redundancy in place, because in the mobile calendar app, there’s a CalDAV sync option. In DAV, I’ve selected everything in CalDav to sync. But in my nextcloud calendar, I’m not seeing most events. What am I missing?
I am running Nextcloud 10 v31.0.5.
So events created via the NC web calendar don’t show up on the phone? Do events created on the mobile app show up on the web calendar?
They do show up.
They do not.
Which calendar app are you using on your phone? I use Fossify Calendar and bidirectional synching works fine using DAVx5.
You cannot sync existing calendars on your smartphone, but you can sync calendars where you have set-up sync subscriptions in DAVx5. If you want to get calendar entries synced with Nextcloud you habe to export the locally existing calendar and import these entries to your DAVx5 synced calendar. You also have to make sure that you create new calendar entries in the correct DAVx5 calendar and not in a local or Google calendar.
That’s very out of date. Simple Mobile Tools were bought out in 2023 by an Israeli advertising company. You’re probably using the last free version.
You should switch to the Fossify Calendar. The Fossify Tools are a fork maintained by one of the original Simple Tools devs.
That’s not a redundancy, that’s how you use it. DavX5 syncs the chosen CalDav to your phone, but you can’t see the synced CalDav in your calendar until you tell your calendar app to use the synced CalDav.
I’m going to guess you’ve synced and can view your Nextcloud Calendar, but anything you add via your phone is going to a local calendar, not your CalDav calendar.
Also, updating to a maintained Calendar app might help!
