Syncing 280.000 Files... Client freezes computer

Hello!

I am using Nextcloud Server 31 over Snap and the latest client. But it happen 1 year before too.

I try to upload 280.000 jpg (2,2 TB) files over the client with sync. After a few 1.000 files the client gets slower and slower and then it freezes the whole PC, mostly the Windows Explorer. The task manager doesn’t show any problems like high CPU usage. After closing the client Windows works normally again. Open the client won’t work every time anymore. Removing the folder sync from the settings tab makes it run normal again too. Is there a better way to sync all this files?

I moved to the snap section.

Not sure how much this is related to the client and/or server configuration. There are reports on poor initial sync performance:

(and it seems to be most likely, because if the server was limited, just the upload speed would go down but the client would still stay reactive).

The other problem can be the pre-packaged images like snap that they are optimized for a certain use case, and if you need more resources, you might need to adjust the settings. It seems you can optimize certain things:

but there were things that are not possible to change (I think it was when it requires to install additional packages within the image).
