Synchronization reversed?

Hello to all of you.
I am on GNU/Linux (Manjaro Linux), and Nextcloud Client synchronizes my chosen directory (my /home/ignace/).
Now, the catastrophe:
House burns down. PC destroyed.
The house is repaired with a brand new computer.
If I install Nextcloud Client, it will synchronize my new home directory, thus deleting all my precious data from the server!
How to tell Nextcloud Client to do the opposite, to repatriate my files on my new PC?
If a good soul could explain me?
If I did not understand anything, do not hesitate to tell me too.
I thank you.

new computer. […] If I install Nextcloud Client, it will synchronize my new home directory, thus deleting all my precious data from the server!

Did this happen or do you assume this might happen?

Because it should of course pull your data from the cloud instead of pushing the empty local folders.

And given you don’t have to burn your house to test it: Just take a new PC or notebook, install Nextcloud and check the behavior. It will pull the data after initial configuration.
