Sync separate folder with e2ee on desktop

hi so i installed the e2ee app on nextcloud, and it works.

however it seems there is no way to sync a folder without it being a subfolder of an already existing sync connection.

for example i want to sync /home/user/documents.
i have to have a sync connection for the entire /home/user directory, and then set the documents directory as encrypted.
is there no way to create a sync connection for the documents directory with encryption ?

also is there any news on nextcloud 23 support ?
