Slow downloads and uploads

I have already looked through a dozen topics on the forum but I have not found any answer in them. I have a virtual machine with nexcloud on it. Sending files to it is with a good ~ 110MB / s transfer rate, while the nexcloud app does it at a maximum speed of 28MB / s ~ 240MB / s. The processor sleeps during this time and the RAM memory is almost unused. What could be the reason for such low speeds in the nexcloud application? The database is on a separate server on SSD disks and there, the readout is at the level of 3GB / s. Everything happens in the local network of 1 Gb / s with link aggregation, i.e. 2x 1 Gb / s

Hello,

Please provide more information about your setup.

  1. Hardware Configuration
  2. VM Configuration (CPU / RAM details)
  3. VM on HDD or SSD? (details of the Disk)
  4. Which Hypervisor
  5. Hardware accelerations enabled on VM?
  6. VM OS?
  7. NextCloud deployment details? (like snap or docker or native?)
  8. SSL running or not?
  9. What else are running on that same hypervisor and inside that same VM?

Please include your testing details,

  1. Network to hypervisor native disk, like SMB share copy speed → ?
  2. Network to VM Disk, like SMB share copy speed → ?
  3. Network to NextCloud via WEB upload speed → ?

Thanks.

Please provide more information about your setup.

  1. Hardware Configuration - Proxmox 128 GB RAM, CPU i7-8700T
  2. VM Configuration (CPU / RAM details) - 4 CPU, 8GB RAM, 8 GB SWAP
  3. VM on HDD or SSD? (details of the Disk) - HDD RAID 5 - HAID 5 4x 4TB WD Red Plus
  4. Which Hypervisor - Proxmox
  5. Hardware accelerations enabled on VM? - Yes

  9. What else are running on that same hypervisor and inside that same VM? 3 VM DNS and SAMBA

Please include your testing details,

  1. Network to hypervisor native disk, like SMB share copy speed → ~110MB/s ~980 mb/s
  2. Network to VM Disk, like SMB share copy speed → ~110MB/s ~980 mb/s
  3. Network to NextCloud via WEB upload speed → link agregation 2x 1 Gb/s

Thanks.

I also have a proxy server running, but it practically sleeps while transferring files

are you using S3 as primary storage? there are some known issues with low upload speeds in that use case caused by the chunking

What do you mean by S3? You mean Sat 3? I am using a SAS card
