Is anyone aware of any specific order to do this (PHP before NC or vice versa) since the PHP 8.1 will not work apparently with NC 23.0.5.
Tips and hints please on how to make a safe transition.

Since Nextcloud 24 is still working with PHP 7.4 the best way would be to upgrade Nextcloud first and PHP afterwards. Btw. The recommended version ist still PHP 8.0. https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/24/admin_manual/installation/system_requirements.html
