Sharing markdown documents with pictures in Talk doesn't work in mobile app

Nextcloud version (eg, 24.0.1): 29.0.3
Talk Server version (eg, 14.0.2): 19.0.4
Custom Signaling server configured: no
Custom TURN server configured: no
Custom STUN server configured: no

In case the web version of Nextcloud Talk is involved:
Operating system (eg, Windows/Ubuntu/…): Windows 11
Browser name and version (eg, Chrome v101): Firefox 127.0.2

In case mobile Nextcloud Talk apps are involved:
Talk Android version (eg, 14.0.2): 19.0.1

The issue you are facing:

In Talk (PC or Android client), sharing (“Share from Nextcloud”) an .md markdown document that was created in the Nextcloud web interface with inserted pictures that went into the .attachments.nnnn folder as usual.

The preview in Talk only shows text, no images.

The Talk PC client, when the shared .md file is clicked on, opens the Nextcloud web interface and shows the markdown document normally.

The Talk Android client, when the shared .md file is clicked on, only shows the image names, for example, “image (6).png”.

This happens even when I share the document with myself in the “Note to self” conversation.

There are no errors in the logs.

Is this supposed to work at all?

Nope, rendering of .md files was not implemented. On iOS for example we rely on the rendering of the OS, so no image support. Feel free to open a feature request in the corresponding repos.
