Hey, i have the following behavior with my installation:
Nextcloud version (eg, 18.0.2) : 19.04
PHP version (eg, 7.1) : 7.3
The issue you are facing:
when i share a document by link and want to allow editing, this function cannot be activated
Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N) : Y
Steps to replicate it:
create a document
share by link
check “allow editing”
close detail box
revisit sharing details
“allow editing” is unchecked
Regards
Perhaps a browser problem. Can you test another browser or mobile device.

i have analyzed the problem further and it appears under the following constellation:
at “Settings” -> “Share” -> “Force password protection” is selected
if you want to share the document by link, the editing mode cannot be activated
Workaround:
Remove setting to 1) and set password protection when creating a share
Then it is also possible to edit the document
Question: does anyone else have it?

I had a few minutes ago the same problem (Nextcloud 20.0.1) but now a few minutes later i can not reproduce it. I created a share with edit option and password and the share does not used a password.
A few days or weeks ago there was a similar problem with sharing and passwords. Perhaps you can open an issue

i will do. i could reproduce this on a new installation, so i assume a bug.
Doesn’t work for me. I have the exact same issue:
Create link with write permission
If I open the link, there is read only
Write permission is removed
Is there any solution for this kind of issue?

Which version are you running? I can no longer reproduce this error in the latest version (23.0.0).
Still get this problem on 22.2.5, and it says “Your version is up to date”
