Is it possible to share revisions or versions of an entity?

For example an entity, Insurance

This is an entity that gets updated every year, or replaced every year.

If this insurance entity is for a boat, in some case, someone asks for the entity for this year and for the last 5 years.

One could argue that you should name the entity “Insurance YEAR”, but that’s old school, it’s rather a version of the entity.

Is it possible to share such an entity in such a way that the recipients gets access to the different versions, for for example years, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015?

Maybe you could solve your need using the File Access Control and Workflows functionalities…

If you tag with the right tag (e.g.: “Insurance”, or maybe “Fleet Street office Insurance”), then you can share all the files with the proper tag.

Check also the config/config.php.sample, there are some options you can set on the versioning. However, the versioning app is more a feature that let’s you restore old versions, so rather backups than versioning of documents.
