Server Side Encryption and Other Devices

So, I was able to enable server side encryption no issues. When logged in on a web browser on a desktop i can see my file structure and all and even play videos.

But when i log into the same account on iOS, the file structure is not updated to show new or different folders. also videos do not play.

Server Side Encryption is fairly invisible to clients since it’s server-side. The main exception is direct editing.

You didn’t provide any information about your environment (which is generally requested when you create a post via a form) so it’s basically impossible to help you other than make wild guesses.

I would encourage you to check your nextcloud.log on your Server for hints about what may be going on. You’re welcome to post recent entries.

Apologies, I am running 29.0.4 in an unraid docker.

I understand it’s “invisible” but why would i all of a sudden have issues such as the ones mentioned, after enabling encryption.

No idea.

Again, please check your server-side log file.

Also, is the iOS client giving you any errors itself?

I guess one possibility that comes to mind is if you just enabled encryption and the iOS device hasn’t logged out/logged back in.

i have logged out and back in on the iOS device.

For the file structure difference there is no error. I created a new folder, moved the data to that new folder and deleted the old folder. but on the iOS the old folder is there and the new one, but the data is still in the old folder.

Id need to try to get a screenshot of the video error

What happens if create a new folder or upload a file from iOS?
