Server error after Certbot certificate installation

Hi to all,
this is my installation:
Nextcloud 23.0.0.10
Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS
Apache/2.4.29
mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.36
PHP 7.4.27
Installation path: /var/www/nextcloud - permissions 755
Data: /var/www/nextcloud-data - permissions 770
These directories are owned by www-data:www-data

I have installed Nextcloud without problems and I was able to see installation page at http://nextcloud.mydomain.com.

Then I’ve installed Certbot certificate and… voilà; that’s the problem.
In /var/log/apache2/nextcloud.error I see:
[ssl:error] [pid 6281] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:48222] AH02042: rejecting client initiated renegotiation.

Oh, this is just the generic error message then :sweat_smile:

Please post the latest error messages from the nextcloud.log (in your data directory) and maybe the webserver logs if they contain useful messages apart from the client renegotiation.
I guess, if the client renegotiation was related, you wouldn’t see the nextcloud page with the error message.

Attention: Please make sure to remove all sensitive information from the log entries, before posting them here.

Exactly; I was noticing the same thing.
in another blog I read that the problem could be Mysql:

Nextcloud 21 will no longer support this version and requires MySQL 8.0 or MariaDB 10.2 or higher.

I did not use MariaDB. Is that the problem?

in stackexchange I read that it is not recommended to increase the sort_buffer_size of Mysql.
What do you think?

As I understood your first message, you didn’t perform a Nextcloud update and this issue just came out of nowhere, right? (Apart from the certbot installation, which seems unrelated)

If that’s the case and there was no Nextcloud update and not a specific update to the DB, I’d say this has nothing to do with unsupported DB versions.

I would try the config value first. And maybe restart the whole machine once.

I understand.
I would like to contact my client first because there are other Mysql databases in use and I would not want to cause problems, being a server in production.
