Seeing [email protected] instead of actual email address

Hey Guys,

I’m facing an issue with the mail app. If someone sends me an email and there is an email address written in said mail, it won’t show the mail but only “[email protected]”. If I click on the link it seems it’s forwarding me, but is only says “my.domain.com rejected the connection” where my.domain.com is the address of my nextcloud instance.

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): 23.0.2
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): linuxserver docker container latest
PHP version (eg, 7.4): 7.4
Mail App 1.11.6

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? Yes, but I have this issue since always.

Steps to replicate it:

  1. open a mail with a mail address in it’s text
  2. see the [email protected] (picture before.png)
  3. click [email protected]
  4. see issue connection refused (picture after.png)
  5. check same e-mail with my mail app on the phone, I can see the address there

no logging information found that would explain this

This is not nextclod related.
The “[email protected] replace” comes from cloudflare email obfuscation (under Scrape Shield config page)

Aahhhh, damn, didn’t think about that. Thank you!

Welp, I feel stupid… I didn’t even think to check my cloudflare settings…
