Same nextcloud account on different Ubuntu users

Support intro

Summary of the issue you are facing:

I am using an Ubuntu client with 2 different local users. Both users are using the same NextCloud account. So I would like to synchronize the NextCloud files to the same directory for both users. For first user I have set up the NextCloud Client and synchronization works perfect.

But for the second user I can not set up the NextCloud Client because there comes an error that the selected directory is still used for synchronization. That is correct but this synchronization is just running if user 1 is logged in.

So is there a way to synchronize NextCloud data for both local users into same directory?

If you have different users on the computer, it is cleaner to have different users in Nextcloud as well and then share the folders in Nextcloud. If you have virtual files enabled you don’t occupy all the space twice.

If you wanted to just have the content permanently synced, I don’t know how well/reliable it is to run this in command line only in the background by some admin user, and then have both users access this resource (e.g. in /mnt/nextcloud). That is probably interesting, if you need large data physically synced to the device for both users.
