Restricting user activity to shared folders

Hi

Is it possible in NextCloud 12 to restrict users so that they can only upload files to shared folders, and not to their document root?

In previous versions (since OwnCloud) it was suggested that these users had their quota set to 0, which meant they could not upload files to their own folder, but could upload to folders created by users with a quota.

In NextCloud 12, it looks like the option for a 0 quota has been removed. Is there a replacement for this functionality?

Hi,

I was just thinking about a solution in another thread (Users of specific group shares all files (no private) - #2 by Schmu) and had the following idea. Maybe this can help you:

Until this is fixed you could have a workaround with File Access Control maybe.
Let’s say:
User Membership – is – “unprivileged users”
System Tag – is not – “read-write”

You then need to create the group “unprivileged users”, add the users in question to that group, create a Tag in “Workflow” named “read-write” and assign that Tag to every Group Folder.
It’s not tested, but could work … maybe :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

If it doesn’t work, please let me know and I will see if I can adopt the File Access Control Rule a little.
