Summary of the issue you are facing:

I’m simply suggesting a method, if one does not already exist, to gather and export at least all of the data requested as The Basics in these submission forms for posting support issues, so that we would not have to track down all of the latest version numbers of our products everytime we submit something. It would be great if even all of the requested items were exposed in a box withing the System page of Nextcloud. Primarily, Nextcloud Server version, Operating system and version, Web server and version, Reverse proxy and version, and PHP version.

All I see there is the PHP version and as for Operating System, I just see the kernel displayed.

I’m just thinking that for this purpose as well as posting issues on GitHub, it would simplify the process and get people to post without omitting some of the data that would prove helpful. Perhaps a process to even automate the beginning of a report. Just proposing this to see if anyone has considered this and if anyone has a solution that helps them streamline this as well.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

Log entries

Nextcloud

Please provide the log entries from your Nextcloud log that are generated during the time of problem (via the Copy raw option from Administration settings->Logging screen or from your nextcloud.log located in your data directory). Feel free to use a pastebin/gist service if necessary.

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.
