Question mark in folder name leads to no sync - is this a bug?

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with file sync on nextcoud 11.0.1. I’m using nextcloud with one big folder on root level shared with a team of 5. Now I want to sync all file changes to mirror on all connected clients by all users.

Just today a team member has created a new folder on sublevel and added files, however these files have not synced with my devices. I do see the files in the web interface and the sync client even shows the creation of the files in the log, it does not want to sync them though.

My assumption is that it has something to do with the properties of the folder created by the team member (who is not the user who originally shared the main folder) but I cannot figure out how to fix this issue.

Alright everyone,

I know it’s just been a minute since I posted but some more experimenting helped solve the problem.

The folder had a question mark in it’s name - that apparently broke the syncing mechanism. Renaming the folder solved led to immediate syncing. Is this a bug that should be reported?

Same problem here using version 12.
