Preview Generator

Hi all,

I’m after some advice with preview generator as it was running really slowly.

So far all i have done is install preview generator and run the following.

nohup sudo -u www-data php /var/www/html/nextcloud/occ -vvv preview:generate-all

i used no hang up so i could close the terminal window.

The reason i wanted to use preview generator was due to thumbnails being very slow at displaying on android and IOS.

Once preview generator had processed a few images browsing from a mobile device was amazing.

Only trouble is its only processing an image about every 5 or more seconds so it’s taking an age. After two days of running the thumbnail folder is about 6 gig and it’s not even a quarter of the way through the images of 227 gig.

I have done no other config so could it be just be making another copy of the image?

Which device do you use and how is the drive attached with image gallery on it?

On my RPi2 it took around two days for 100GB images on external HDD attached via USB. So at least with ARM power and limited USB speed, it simply takes that long :wink:.

Nope, didn’t change anything.
