Possible Calendar 6.2.3 regressions in the event editor on Nextcloud 32.0.8

Possible Calendar 6.2.3 regressions in the event editor on Nextcloud 32.0.8

Hi everyone,

I would like to share a short summary of issues I noticed in the Calendar event editor after recent updates.

I am currently using:

  • Nextcloud AIO
  • Nextcloud: 32.0.8
  • Calendar app: 6.2.3

On my instance, I noticed that some previously working features in the Calendar event editor are no longer available or no longer behave as expected.

1. Attendees autocomplete does not show internal users or groups

When creating a new Calendar event and adding attendees, the Attendees field no longer suggests any internal users or groups from the server.

This affects both:

  • regular Nextcloud users
  • Nextcloud groups

The users and groups still exist and are available elsewhere in Nextcloud, but Calendar does not show them when adding attendees to an event.

This used to work before on the same instance.

2. Option to create a Talk room for a Calendar event is missing

I also noticed that the option to create a Talk room directly from a Calendar event is no longer shown.

Talk itself works normally, but the Calendar event editor no longer offers the option to create or attach a Talk room for the event.

This also used to work before on the same instance.

Related GitHub issues

These issues already seem to be tracked on GitHub, so this post is not meant as a separate bug report, but rather as an informational summary for other users who might notice the same behavior.

From my side, it looks like the Calendar event editor in Calendar app 6.2.3 may currently be affected by multiple regressions:

  • missing users/groups in Attendees autocomplete
  • missing Talk room option in event creation

If someone else is using Nextcloud 32.0.8 with Calendar 6.2.3 and sees the same behavior, it may be useful to follow or confirm the related GitHub issues instead of troubleshooting the local setup too deeply.

Small update after Calendar 6.2.4 release:

Calendar app 6.2.4 is now available, so I updated and tested the event editor again.

Current versions:

  • Nextcloud AIO
  • Nextcloud: 32.0.8
  • Calendar app: 6.2.4

After updating to Calendar 6.2.4, the issue with the missing Talk room option seems to be fixed. The option to create a Talk room for a Calendar event is now visible again.

However, the Attendees autocomplete issue still remains.

Hi, did you report the autocomplete problem already to the calendar app by creating an issue or is there one already?

Hi, yes — you probably know me well enough by now that the GitHub report is already there.

I also linked it in my forum post above. The related GitHub issue is called:

Attendees not run

So the autocomplete problem is already reported in the Calendar app repository.

My forum post was mainly meant as an informational summary for other users, because both issues appeared around the same time after the Calendar update (6.2.3).
