Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).

Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can. :heart:

Summary of the issue you are facing:

I uploaded 6 high resolution photos to my cloud on my phone and gave it about 5 minutes to sync and everything but 2 photos loaded. I checked the logs and I got the following below. Im assuming this is a limit I need to change in the PHP config file but didnt see anything that made sense. I can see the files and the names on the server but it wont let me download or view it.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Took a photo and tried to access on the client and web version with no luck

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

@computermaster18

can you show the output of;

sudo snap get nextcloud php.memory-limit

also see; GitHub - nextcloud-snap/nextcloud-snap: ☁️📦 Nextcloud packaged as a snap

If you’d like to set the memory limit to a higher value (say, 512M), run:

$ sudo snap set nextcloud php.memory-limit=512M

please mention the file format you’re trying to upload

Its a .jpg file and its showing 512M as the result of that command. Is the issue that the database it running out of memory? Its got plenty of resources could I bump it to a gig? Thank you!

go ahead, give it a shot :sunglasses:

$ sudo snap set nextcloud php.memory-limit=1024M

see PHP configuration options in our Nextcloud snap wiki

So much better. Thank you so much! Happy holidays! @scubamuc
