When viewing a pdf in the viewer the spaces are represented by a visible character.

i tried this with two browsers… chromium and firefox with the same result.

Just a guess - your pdf has an embedded font that is not rendered correctly or not available. But imho it’s clearly pointing into that direction.
Right! Howvever, I did embed the fonts but it took Outlining them to fix the problem. Thanks
