Hey,
We’re having a problem displaying PDF files in the browser and in the app.
Some files work. The majority, however, don’t. When you download the files, you can open and view them normally. I can’t see any errors.
As a test, I completely disabled encryption. I also disabled and re-enabled the PDF viewer.
I see the following message in the developer console:
Invalid or corrupted PDF file
PDF.js v3.11.174 (build: ce8716743)
Message: Invalid PDF structure.
We’re working with Nextcloud Hub 9 (30.0.5)
What can we do?
Best regards,
Matthias
Hey,
please update to latest NC 30.x release.
PDF viewer is part of the server bundle.
Mozilla put a lot of effort into pdf.js
See date of Release v3.11.174 · mozilla/pdf.js · GitHub
Just an idea and report back.
Cheers
Hey rakekniven,
I successfully installed the latest version (31.0.3).
Unfortunately, the error message persists:
Invalid or corrupted PDF file
PDF.js v4.0.189 (Build: 50f52b43a)
Message: Invalid PDF structure.
What else can I do?
Regards
Matthias

Can you confirm you have the same problem when using pdf.js via the demo:
Click in the upper right (may need to expand the menu) and select Open .
I can open the link normally. A PDF opens in the Edge browser.

Did you use the demo to try opening one of the problematic PDF documents?

Sorry, I don’t think I understand exactly what I’m supposed to do.
Can you explain it to me again?

When you visit the demo link for PDF.js I posted, use the Open menu option in it to try to open up one of the PDF files that you are experiencing problems with.
I’ve since found the problem. A NAS server was using an app to upload data to the Nextcloud server, and the data was also encrypted during transport. After disabling it, it now works perfectly. Thank you!
