PDF_viewer goes in conflict with Collabora on public links with custom permission "Hide download"

Summary of the issue you are facing:

If a pdf file is shared publicly with custom permission “Hide download”, the pdf file is wrongly opened with Collabora. If I remove the “Hide download” option, the pdf file is correctly opened by pdf_viewer.

The bug seems not new, as a bug report has already been filled in June 2026 ( Bug report: PDF public share opens with Collabora after enabling custom permissions · Issue #5789 · nextcloud/richdocuments · GitHub ), but still not has been assigned for solving yet.

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Create a public link for a pdf file.

  2. Set custom permission “Hide download” and save the public link.

  3. Open the public link: the pdf file wrongly opens with Collabora instead of pdf_viewer.
