Support intro

Sorry to hear you’re facing problems. :slightly_frowning_face:

The community help forum (help.nextcloud.com) is for home and non-enterprise users. Support is provided by other community members on a best effort / “as available” basis. All of those responding are volunteering their time to help you.

If you’re using Nextcloud in a business/critical setting, paid and SLA-based support services can be accessed via portal.nextcloud.com where Nextcloud engineers can help ensure your business keeps running smoothly.

Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).

Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can. :heart:

The Basics

  • Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 29.x.x):
    • 34.0.0
  • Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
    -Linux 7.0.10+deb13-amd64
  • Web server and version (e.g, Apache 2.4.25):
    • replace me
  • Reverse proxy and version _(e.g. nginx 1.27.2)
    -swag/nginx 1.26.3
  • PHP version (e.g, 8.3):
    • 8.4.21
  • Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Yes / No):
    • Yes
  • When did this problem seem to first start?
    • Upgrade Nextcloud Hub 26 Spring
  • Installation method (e.g. AlO, NCP, Bare Metal/Archive, etc.)
    -OMV docker compose
  • Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
    • no,

Summary of the issue you are facing:

I get an empty window without prompt when I launch OCC from the Nextcloud menu. So it impossible for me to use occ command to install Collabora On line Built-in Code server for example. Thanks in advance for any help. Sorry, butI failed to find some configuration file as required to help a faster reply.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

Configuration

I add the nextcloud.subdomain.conf file in the swag/nginx/proxy.confs directory

## Version 2025/07/18
# make sure that your nextcloud container is named nextcloud
# make sure that your dns has a cname set for nextcloud
# assuming this container is called “swag”, edit your nextcloud container’s config
# located at /config/www/nextcloud/config/config.php and add the following lines before the “);”:
# ‘trusted_proxies’ => [gethostbyname(‘swag’)],
# ‘overwrite.cli.url’ => ‘https://nextcloud.example.com/’,
# ‘overwritehost’ => ‘nextcloud.example.com’,
# ‘overwriteprotocol’ => ‘https’,
#
# Also don’t forget to add your domain name to the trusted domains array. It should look somewhat like this:
# array (
# 0 => ‘192.168.0.1:444’, # This line may look different on your setup, don’t modify it.
# 1 => ‘nextcloud.example.com’,
# ),
server {

  • listen 443 ssl;
    # listen 443 quic;

  • listen [::]:443 ssl;
    # listen [::]:443 quic;

  • server_name nextcloud.;

  • include /config/nginx/ssl.conf;

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.
  1. enable Nextcloud Office: occ app:enable richdocuments
  2. enable Collabora CODE built-in: occ app:enable richdocumentscode

I fear the issue is that you’re using occweb? Is there shell access available to you?

Hi Syskeeper. Thans for your reply.
Yes I am trying to use OCCweb. Before upgrading to Nextcloud HUB , it worked fine. As I 'm a beginner I am not sure to reply correctly to your second question. For OMV, from which I installed Nextcloud, I use Putty. But for Nextcloud, I don’t know how to put a OCC command.

Hi scubamuc. Thanks for your reply.
I don’t know how to put an OCC command without OCCweb within Nextcloud. Please, is there a way to di it?

its all there in the docs → you need shell access as @SysKeeper mentioned!

so you have shell access to the server :check_mark:

don’t do that as that app is deprecated! see OCC Web - Apps - App Store - Nextcloud , last compatible version was v31 and you’re using v34. better remove that app from your instance.

don’t worry we all started sometime, somewhere, don’t be shy :waving_hand:

this thread explains the steps required:
https://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php?thread/44782-using-the-occ-in-nextcloud/

  • open your putty
  • connect to server via ssh
  • enter the container with docker exec -it nextcloud bash
  • enter the above mentioned occ commands consecutively
      1. enable Nextcloud Office: occ app:enable richdocuments
      1. enable Collabora CODE built-in: occ app:enable richdocumentscode

bar having used OMV, you’ll need to wait for some folks who know OMV. be patient…

Thanks a lot scubamu!
