Hello,
I have just realised that it is not possible to protect a folder shared on the web via a download link with a password.
You can set a password in ‘Customize Link’, but this setting is simply ignored.
This is a basic functionality that you can really expect to work.
I’m sure it worked without any problems a few years ago.

Unfortunately you ignored the template and a lot of information to help you is missing.
Please add all necessary information like Nextcloud version, webserver type and version, os version, related log file content.

I think you forgot to update the share link when you set the password. If you did it on your smartphone, then we need you to scroll down. If necessary, hide the keyboard so that the buttons are visible. Yes, I think that should solve the problem. Try it out.
