PAM backend in 2022 status?

So i need nextcloud pam support on the lattest version of nextcloud

anyone have gotten this working since the plugin in the store is like VERY OLD

help appreciated

Not sure that you can do much, someone needs to adapt this app for current versions. From the bugtracker it still seems to work for NC 22.

The user_external app is a bit better maintained, but doesn’t directly support pam. As workaround you can run the authentication against ssh? GitHub - nextcloud/user_external: 👥 External user authentication methods like IMAP, SMB and FTP

1.could it be that this plugin still work perfectly and dose not require any update for like years and years at time?

2.How user_external app work actually had it forgone all of nextcloud authentication insted using ssh for all user backend?

3.have anyone gotten this to work as far as you are aware?
