Hi, I just installed the latest Stable NC (32.0.0) on a bare metal Ubuntu 24.04 Server. It works great.

We have it stripped down so it is really just a file sharing application so our partners can download our software and documentation.

So we have an admin account that has upload privileges, and that account will share out to all the users. Each user is assigned a group to let the system know what they are allowed to see.

Again, all of this is working great.

BUT, is it possible for NC to notify a user when a file is changed, or uploaded to a specific folder? I have installed the ‘Send a Notification’ Flow, but it doesn’t seem to send any notifications. Maybe I have it configured wrong, but instead of fighting it I thought it might be better to find out if what I want is even possible.

When I google this it says that should be done and they give steps to set it up, but those steps don’t actually work, or are wrong (IE: menu items missing, etc).

Thanks for any help. Happy to provide any info that is needed.

So I got a solution that is working. Part of my problem was literally a definition of terms. When I say notify, I want email notifications. When NC says notify, it could be email, but is really just a notification in the browser.

The Send Notification Flow only sends notifications to the browser.

My solution is to select the option to email for unhandled notifications after x amount of time in the notifications setting. Now I get an email from the app as I would expect. It’s not ideal, but it does work. I just get more emails than I really want.
