Nextcloud version _(eg, 20.0.5)_: `26.0.2`
Operating system and version _(eg, Ubuntu 20.04)_: `Arch Linux`
Apache or nginx version _(eg, Apache 2.4.25)_: `Apache 2.4.57`
PHP version _(eg, 7.4)_: `8.2.2`

The issue you are facing:

I’m running a self-hosted installation of Nextcloud. Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Talk all work and sync from my phone (Android). But I recently installed the Nextcloud Notes app (v. 4.0.0) and it will not sync, consistently giving a `synchronization failed` error (complete output below).

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? _(Y/N)_: Y

Steps to replicate it:

1. Install Nextcloud Notes.
2. Add account (my regular calendar, etc. account)
3. Touch + to add a new note.

The output of your config.php file in `/path/to/nextcloud` (make sure you remove any identifiable information!):

```auto
<?php
$CONFIG = array (
  'datadirectory' => '/var/lib/nextcloud/data',
  'logfile' => '/var/log/nextcloud/nextcloud.log',
  'apps_paths' =>
  array (
    0 =>
    array (
      'path' => '/usr/share/webapps/nextcloud/apps',
      'url' => '/apps',
      'writable' => false,
    ),
    1 =>
    array (
      'path' => '/var/lib/nextcloud/apps',
      'url' => '/wapps',
      'writable' => true,
    ),
  ),
  'instanceid' => ' ********',
  'passwordsalt' => ' ********',
  'secret' => ' ********',
  'trusted_domains' =>
  array (
    0 => 'nextcloud.my.domain',
    0 => 'calendar.my.domain',
  ),
  'dbtype' => 'pgsql',
  'version' => '26.0.2.1',
  'overwrite.cli.url' => 'https://nextcloud.my.domain',
  'dbname' => 'nextcloud',
  'dbhost' => 'localhost:5432',
  'dbuser' => 'myuser',
  'dbpassword' => ' ********',
  'installed' => true,
  'theme' => '',
  'loglevel' => 2,
  'maintenance' => false,
);
```

Hello and welcome to the community support forum 👋

Did you already have a look at the logs of your sever? The Android log says, your server responded with “Nor permitted”, so it obviously can’t show any notes. The question is: Why does your server think you are not permitted?

Please remove any sensitive data and then post your server logs.

Kind regards

That’s the strange thing. I don’t see anything in the server logs. And tailing the logs with `journalctl -f` shows nothing when I try and fail to sync. The Apache logs also show nothing. I was hoping to see something in /var/log/nextcloud, but that directory is empty.

In my case, nextcloud.log was complaining that the antivirus was not found (setup problem with clamav).
