Summary of the issue you are facing:

Registration isnt possible. I get a link to a private cloud, I want to register, but when I press register the page just goes blank.

I tried registering through third party apps (tab.digital and the good cloud) reccomended on the official page but their accounts dont let me log into nextcloud.

On the screenshots you can see what I press to register and what happens after I press the button. Nothing. Any ideas how to help me be able to even register an account?

The issue is present on various devices and browsers in different wifi networks.

Hey @alexchem welcome to the Nextcloud community :waving_hand:

please be clear, where did you sign up for an account?

please check your email inbox and junk folder to be sure you haven’t missed any confirmation emails from the provider you have tried to create an account with.

from your post it is very difficult to understand what you are trying to do. possibly you could note down the steps taken one by one giving us more details? please mention the URL where you are trying to access your account.

also take note, this is a community forum and we are not affiliated with tab.digital nor TheGood.Cloud. we will however try to help you in any way if you could give us more details.

I got the link to a shared cloud that some friends are using. I got the link from their “how to get cloud access”-ecplanation, so people have used this way before. After I click that link to our cloud, I am presented with the first photo. A “anmelden” (log in) button, a “registrierung” (sign up) button and other things. When I press the highlighted Registrierieren button, the next page (picture 2) opens. I am presented with nothing but the background and no option to register. That must be a nextcloud bug since it is happening the same on various devices.

The link to our cloud where I am presented the option to log in and sign in is
https://cloud.THENAMEOFOURCLOUD.de/index.php/login (I changed the name so obvs the link doesnt go anywhere now)

After this way of signing up and creating a new account didnt work, I went to the nextcloud web page which forwarded me towards tabdigital. I created accounts there but those dont let me sign into next cloud.

Ask this friend or even better the Admin of this Nexctcloud Server for support.

Background: it seems you have no clue about the Server-Config. On my Server-Config the Registration-App runs like a smooth and i was able to register a new user using my mobile phone from mobile-ISP Connection using Firefox for Android. So this seems to be config problem regarded to your specific server config. So most likely only the Admin of the Nexcloud will be able to fix it

The friend is the admin. He says they have been using this link the entire time without issues. Unfortunately I dont know anything about the server config. What are the important aspects are there to be aware of with the server config?

Is that a special registration app? Or just the one that goes blank after I click Register as shown above?

Would you be so kind as to maybe send me the link youre using? If yours works, at least I can get an account that way.

Seems you have even no clue what Nextcloud is. It is NOT one big Service like AWS. Currently there are around 400,000 Nextcloud-Server-Installations all over the world.

I don’t know what link your friend was sharing with and why. But most likely it will have a reason, like he wants to share files or collaborate with you. So ask you friend.

My nextcloud i did the test with is my private one, not public one. Its limited to private familly use.

If you just want ANY nextcloud and not a specific one for specific reasons you frind was send you the link just google for free of charge Nexcloud-Accounts. So you can start with one of them.

I know very little about IT in general tbh. I thought it was just a cloud hosting service where you can register. Like dropbox but for shared usage. I just started a position where I need access to our data and documentation.

I dont understand how it could be a server thing. I’ve downloaded the client, when I try to sign into our cloud it sends me into a browser window where to register or sign in but registering just leads me back to the blank page with nothing but the background. How is that fixable by our own server config? It seems like the nextcloud browser page isnt loading properly….

How did you register an account though? Not through the third party I assume.

The free of charge Nextcloud accounts are available through tab.digital and thegoodcloud, Nextcloud dosnt seem to have accounts available. Which is a weird thing in general.

One thing you might want to check, if you have browser plugins blocking some content to be loading. So you don’t see this.

Yes, Nextcloud wants to provide something similar but as open source. So it means anybody can run it. So there is just one drop box, but there are hundreds of thousands of different Nextclouds, and on one of them, you have this problem.

And you are on the Nextcloud of your friend, which he or she runs either fully by themselves or through some hosting service. Here on this forum, many run their own Nextcloud server, and they just said that the functionality itself is working on their server (so there is no general bug in this part of the software) but there can be other issues as well.

Unless some blocking of your browser or similar, there is very little you can do other than contacting someone that runs this service.
