No external storage via smb possible

Hi,

I am struggling to integrate some of my shares into nextcloud. I use the latest stable 13.0.0.5.
Everything is setup but when I enter the details of my share I only get the red symbol that it is not working. Any idea? See screenshots

You need to enable CIFS

Hi,

the Data is on a NAS storage. I just wanted to proove with the screenshot that the link is working. I can access \10.0.0.10\Videos from my Windows 10 device. But Nextcloud does not integrate.

Is the smbclient package installed? Nextcloud uses it to communicate to SMB servers.

As well as the php-smbclient package?

I had that installed, but looking deeper into it, it doesn’t seem to be required.

Hi,

yes the smbclient package is installed otherwise you could not access the setting and prepare a SMB connection as shown in the screenshot above.

That’s really strange. The only package i did not install is php-smbclient. And this to install is not really easy as there’s no package. Could that block the connection?

Yes it would require php-smbclient since this is the main package NC uses to connect to remove SMB/CIFS shares.
