This is the 40GB preconfigured VM running on a VirtualBox VM

Nextcloud version (eg, 12.0.2): lastest 14
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 17.04): Ubuntu 18.04.1
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): Apache 2.24.29
PHP version (eg, 7.1):
Domain with DDNS (namecheap)

The issue you are facing:

Local PCs can’t connect to the NC via the web URL / Domain or IP. (http nor https work).

Any outside the LAN device (phone or tablet not on wifi but carrier data) can connect just fine!

LAN PCs can connect to internal address 192.168.x.x

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Y

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Open any browser on a local PC (FF, Chrome, Opera, Edge etc etc) and try to connect to https://www.mydomain.es. PC times out
  2. Try to connect to external IP 173.X.X.X. Still no connection
  3. Go to https://www.mydomain.es from a cell device (NO WIFI connection) and it resolves without issue. I can log in without issue!

And I fixed it myself! Took some alternate wording and googling but it was a case of what is called “hairpin NAT”.
