Nginx error rewrite or internal redirection cycle

Hi,
I try to install nextcloud on a freenas FreeBSD 11.2-STABLE
Nextcloud 14.0.4

I follow this tuto :

Where do I define the path where nginx look for. It should the ‘root /mynextcloud;’ statement no?

Due to a missing location matching a request for index.php, that request always is matched with location / resulting again and again in rewrites with index.php$uri.

To solve this, add this location block

Also I recommend to remove the # from that line:

#deny all;

and to replace

rewrite ^ /index.php$uri;

with

rewrite ^ /index.php$request_uri;

as well as both occurences of

try_files $uri /index.php$uri$is_args$args;

with

try_files $uri /index.php$request_uri;

Don‘t forget to reload the changed configuration with

nginx -s reload
