Nextcloud Talk: I can't figure out the polls

Nextcloud version: 26.0.2
Operating system and version: Yunohost 11.1.20
Apache or nginx version : Nginx 1.18.0
PHP version: 7.4

The issue you are facing:

I can’t figure out how to add polls in Nextcloud talk.
/poll itself launches the smart picker, and /poll anything
isn’t recognized by the talk bot. command does not exist

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? Yes

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Download Talk
  2. Download Simple poll for Nextcloud Talk
  3. During chat type /poll Is this a poll?
    Yes
    No

Discontinued a few years ago. You’ll want to use the regular Polls app and share the links to Talk.

And how does one use the simple polls?

When in a chat, just click on the attachment symbol and select “Create new poll”:

Note this only works in group conversation, not in 1:1 conversations.

That’s not present on my end. I have ‘create new text file’ instead.

Are you sure it’s a group conversation?

No. It’s a private conversation.
