Hi all -
Thus far, I have been impressed with the features and development of the Nextcloud Talk application and the extension of the core Nextcloud services.
That said, one thing holding us back from fully jumping in and using this on a larger scale, as odd as it sounds, is the ability to have fully embedded GIF functionality. Which includes copying and pasting GIFs into the applications (and having it recognized) and the ability to leverage a BUTTON to click, select a GIF, and post it appropriately. The end users frankly almost demand those features in a modern tool, and we will get significant pushback if we leverage a toolset without it.
There was a third-party GIF integration tool that, at least, to some extent, allowed for a nonideal workaround. But that tool has since failed to function correctly, and the author is not trying to fix it. Besides, I don’t think that is the best long-term solution for the app.
So, with that, I just wanted to push the feature request for GIF supportability in the app and the ability to post gifs natively from inside the app through a user-friendly button akin to most modern communication tools.
Thanks!
