Nextcloud Talk app / Coturn not working on mobile data

Hi all,

We have Nextcloud and Coturn running on an Odroid M1 with Ubuntu 20.04. Everything runs fine except for video calls with users connected to the internet either via a 5G router or mobile hotspot. It doesn’t matter if they are using a Windows, Mac, Ubuntu desktop or laptop or mobile device. They can access Nextcloud, and also join a conversation and chat, but in the call their video / audio does not connect (“Could not connect”).

Has anyone here had a similar problem before, or does anyone have an idea how to solve the problem? We are not sure where exactly the problem is. (App, Turnserver, …)

Nextcloud 25.0.0
Nextcloud Talk 15.0.2
Operating System: Linux 4.19.219-odroid-arm64 aarch64

The coturn config (/etc/turnserver.conf) looks like this:

listening-port=3478
fingerprint
use-auth-secret
static-auth-secret=XXXXXXXX
realm=XXXXXXXX
total-quota=100
bps-capacity=0
stale-nonce=600
syslog
no-multicast-peers
cli-password=XXXXXXXX
  • XXXXXXXX being redacted information.

Doesn’t anyone have a clue?

Could be the provider blocking the coturn port, try switching to 443 .
