Nextcloud sees one folder as 2?

Hello!

I just tried to sync from SteamDeck and my Windows 11 over WebDAV.
It works without errors, but SteamOS is naming the folder: sync and Windows 11: Sync.
The capital letter brakes the sync as both systems add the files to different folders.
I can’t change that because its a pre-made script.

Is there a way to fix that on my Nextclouds site?

Nextcloud runs on Linux which is case-sensitive (same as Mac-OS)… I doubt there is a way to get around this fact. The only chance I see is to adjust the folder on the Windows side to mach the case - this one doesn’t care about the case and this way folders should match on the server.

In general you should never try to “merge” two different file collections using Nextcloud or any other sync tool. Better you first sync one client to a server, sync the second client and add the files from the second client to a ready sync folder.

Thank you for your answer!
I can try to ask their support too, as they seem to hear on people.

There is a function, if you add another device you can choose if you want to upload the files from the added client, or the files from the cloud. I think they had a thought on that
