Nextcloud on standby drive?

Hello all,

I was wondering, when a client use the nextcloud-client, when he pools the server about files changes, does nextcloud server only use database (mysql) or touch local files?

I need to know it, to see if my local storage drive can be in standby mode.

In theory it should be enough to query the database. Make sure that the logfile is not on the storage drive (it is by default in the data-folder).
