NextCloud - MacOS Desktop Client problems

Hi All,

New user to both Unraid and Nextcloud. I’ve been setting up Nextcloud on my Unraid server and it works great through web interface and on my mobile app (iOS).

I’m now trying to get the MacOS desktop app to work. I install the app, put in my server address, which opens up a web page, where I login successfully and get a message saying “Account Connected, you may now close this window”.

However, the app sits there with a spinning wheel saying “Please complete the log in process in your browser” with options to cancel or retry - neither of which move the process forwards!

What am I missing?

Many thanks

Richard.

Hello @Richard_Sillitto ,

welcome to the community of Nextcloud.

You started a topic in support category.
Unfortunately you ignored the template and a lot of information to help you is missing.

Please add all necessary information like Nextcloud version, webserver type and version, os version, related log file content.

client version and client os version would be helpful as well.

Without additional information the community members cannot help you.

Hi Rakeniven,

Let me try and fill in the blanks  Turns out its a bit harder than I expected to find everything, but let’s see

Nextcloud Server - version 30.0.0
Running in a docker on an Unraid server version 6.12.13
On an intel platform (MSI Z970 motherboard, 12 get Intel Core i5-12600K w/32GB DDR5 RAM)

Client version is running on macOS Sonoma on an M1 Mac Studio - and the software version is 5.5.5.0

My Unraid server is running duckDNS to handle the dynamic IP address of the server, with Swag as a reverse proxy.

This aspect appears to be working fine in so much as browsing to NextCloud over web (via Safari or Chrome) is fully functional, as is working through the iOS app on my iPhone - which works either within my home network or remotely over 5G.

Logs - I have to admit that I don’t know where to source the relevant logs, although I appreciate these may have the clue to the problem.

Richard.
