Nextcloud Jitsi (Conferences) - Stuck at 'Waiting for authenticated user...'

Hello Support Team,

I’m using a locally hosted Nextcloud version 29. I’ve installed the conferences app (Jitsi) and I’m having trouble opening up the conference room.

I’ve created a room and when I press the play button to open the room I receive a message that says:

Waiting for authenticated user…

And there is a Log-in button. I’m the moderator so I press the login button.

When I press the log-in button my screen goes white and I’m met with a message that says: This content is blocked. Contact the site owner to fix the issue.

I believe in order to use the public Jitsi I need to log in. But in this case Nextcloud Jitsi won’t allow me to log in.

Does anyone else have this issue? Any ideas on how I can fix this issue.

Any advice you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

I do not use Nextcloud in conjunction with Jitsi. But the problem with the official Nextcloud server https://meet.jit.si is the need to register. Apparently you have problems with that.

You could start by using one of the hundreds of servers that don’t require registration. Does ist work?

Hello @devnull ,

Thank you very much for this reply! I’ve never heard of free Jitsi servers available to use? Do you know how safe they are to use? This is for my small business and we sometimes have a need to have a video conference with a client or vendor. Any advice or direction you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Is there no other way to use the jitsi.meet servers from Nextcloud? I can’t be the only one who has tried Jitsi from Nextcloud and had an issue.

Thank you.
