Nextcloud Desktop client doesn't connect reliably

Hello!

I have the following problem: I have been using the Nextcloud desktop client for a few years on both Linux and Windows. A few weeks ago I noticed that the client does not log in after booting my computer. The problem does not occur every time, sometimes the login works fine. It is always possible to trigger the login by restarting the desktop client - sometimes it takes just one restart, sometimes up to five or six.

I am using Nextcloud Server version 30.0.2 installed on a Synology NAS and Nextcloud client version 3.15.0 on my Linux Mint (21.3) desktop. The problem also occurs on my laptop running Windows 10. I cannot find any entries about login problems in the Nextcloud logs.

Does anyone have any ideas? And thanks in advance for your help!

Have you tried to start the client manually without doing a reboot and does it connect?
It might be possible that the network connection is somehow not ready when the application is started - just a guess.

Hi and thanks for the quick reply!
Yes, I do that all the time and it always works – sometimes on the first try, sometimes it takes five or six restarts of the client. But I’m pretty sure it’s not a network connection issue because from time to time it even works right after a restart – and I can access Nextcloud in my browser anytime…
