Nextcloud db journal file

Hi,

how i can hide or smth nextcloud client sync db journal files ?

When i hide this file manually, then few moments is it back ?

Pic is here:

Do you mean the .sync_XXXXXXXXX.db files in the Nextcloud sync folder?

And what do you mean by ‘hide this file manually’? They are already hidden files. Whether you see them or not depends on whether “Show hidden files” is enabled in your file manager.

Hi, when i turn hidden files off, then:

When i turned hidden files on, then:

Hmm, sorry, I cannot reproduce the issue on either Linux or in a Windows 10 VM. Those files all disappear when I disable ‘Hidden items’.

Client versions tested:
3.17.3 on Linux
4.0.0 on Windows

Hi,

i use client veriosn 4.0.0 and Windows 11 25H2

That I cannot test, because I don’t have Windows 11.

Do you have a lot of files? Maybe you could try resynchronizing everything completely, i.e. log out of your client account, delete the sync folder (or move it to another location to be on the safe side), and then log back in. The folder and all of these hidden files should then be regenerated.

If that’s not an option, or if it still doesn’t work after you did it, and no one else has any more ideas here here, you can also searching the GitHub Issues and if none exist yet, opening a new one… GitHub · Where software is built

I have about 650GB files

I’d probably give re-synchronizing a try. I don’t know, it would maybe take an hour or so, maybe a little more, depending on your network speed and how many files you have (many small files tend to take a little longer then fewer big ones). If you decide to go for it, make sure your download speed isn’t limited in the client’s settings, otherwise it could take forever: Syncing 25k small files - need faster solution - #11 by Rob4Bob

Other options would be:

  • Do nothing if everything else is working fine and just ignore the file.
  • Wait to see if others experience the same issue and come up with a solution.
  • Report it on GitHub so the developers can take a look.

This file is just uncomfortable
