i upgrade my nextcloud from V13 to V18. so I call the updater via updater.phar! the download needs 30 minutes because of the horrible download rate from this site…

then the updater downloads the zip file from the source https://download.nextcloud.com/server/releases/nextcloud(version).zip
Yes. At updates it does not help. Perhaps the updater is smart and if there is a downloaded ZIP-file he does not download again.
I upgrade actually two nextclouds.
One nextcloud at home.
One nextcloud in the internet on a VPS.
Both updates are “downloading” the new zip-file.
I think i must wait for download perhaps one hour or more.
I hope it does not break.
Is there already an official upgrade path from NC 18 to NC 19.0.1?
In none of my Nextcloud installations it offers an upgrade to 19.0.1, even when I switch the channel to Beta 
My last 18-backup on my VPS is from 18.0.4.2 . I think i changed in 18.0.4.2 to “beta” at the beginning of release 19 and i changed from 18 to 19.

I tried the download of NC 19 from Index of /server/releases again and it seems to be smooth again.

I guess it is not related to the network setup, just the download server being hammered. Since I also have seen the very slow downloads (500KB/s) while debugging.
Maybe setup a bittorrent download as extra option, as seen commonly by other open source projects?

Regardless of this, it wouldn’t be wrong if Nextcloud were to monitor the download page itself. Last time the problem was clearly visible with Pingdom. It would be nice if Nextcloud would react proactively in this matter.

You got my thumb up as this would make people more independent of the source being used.
On the other hand, we could suggest mirroring / repositories as this would distribute the traffic evenly between those and the original server.

Each time I update I am confronted with really slow download speeds, and the updater is stuck on “Downloading” step. Fiber internet connection here, 50kb/s speed max when downloading updates.
I am also experiencing issues when attempting to upgrade from 18.0.3 to 18.0.8. Log shows:

Also when attempting to download Nexcloud Desktop Clients it has taken up to 1 hour. I have a 200mbps/200mbps fibre connection.

We managed to download successfully using the original link this morning. It must have been congestion on the internet 
I did a speed test using fast.com and got 110Mbps.
So now hopefully I can upgrade to 18.0.8.
